Maintaining wood floors

How do you maintain a wood floor?

Wood floors have grains that dirt can accumulate in. If that dirt gets walked into the floor, it starts to look dull. Intensive maintenance is necessary to ensure your wood floor looks as good as it can for as long as it can. Proper maintenance extends the life of the floor and makes it look well cared for and clean.

For the best results

Step one

Basic maintenance

Basic treatment complements regular cleaning, removes dirt, and repairs minor damage. Our flooring experts ensure your floor looks beautiful again after treatment.

Step two

Thorough maintenance

There are several treatment methods depending on the type of wood. The first step is often sanding the wood. This basically removes all the dirt in the grain but, more importantly, it gives the wood its original appearance back. Unlike natural stone, you can’t just keep doing this. Traditionally, wood floors are oiled or varnished every two years. This is a time-consuming and costly process, so permanent coatings have now been developed that last for years, and are easy to clean and maintain.

Step three
